Christmas at Our House

After wrapping all our gifts on Christmas eve and heading to bed in the wee hours of Christmas morning, we got up after sleeping in until 9. I made us waffles for breakfast (Derek's new favorite). Then we opened our gifts just the 2 of us. Our last Christmas alone, it was bitter sweet. A little sad that we will no longer be a we or couple but a family and yet excited at all the changes to come. Its strange being in such a phase of transition, we already operate differently but we know there are so many more changes to come.
After our gifts were opened, we got ready to head to the Mullady's. Then opened presents with our furbabies and watched them play with the new bundle of toys and treats before heading to our next stop.

We really tried to savor each moment this year, knowing things will be so different in just a matter of days but every time we stopped to talk it was about the pending arrival of our little peanut and how excited we were at what lies ahead.
