Gasparilla Parade 2009

We spent our Saturday afternoon on Bayshore Blvd in Tampa. We took advantage of my new office and waited along the parade route for our bounty of beads. The tradition celebrations the pirates invasion of Tampa Bay. The week starts off with Pirates taking over the city, Derek can hear the cannons and gun shots from his office. The Mayor gives up the key to the city and the festivities begin.
We hung out with my co-workers, my mom, great friends Stacy and Ryan and Derek's boss Suzanne and her hubby Chris. Everyone had a great time and we got lots of beads for the baby. Its a Tampa Bay tradition!
