Last week my husband had a moment of insanity and purchased us tickets to the Kentucky Derby.
We drove up for the day. Thankfully we never got rained on at the Derby. It was neat to be in such a historic place, but it could use some updating as well.
We were in the 2nd grandstand. Derek had his 1st and 2nd mint julep.
We got to participate in a whole day of racing.
My horses kept coming in but then again I only bet on them to show. We probably came out about even for the day so no big winners for us. When it was time for the actual Derby everyone stood on their seats and cheered. Sadly for me at this height I couldn't see anything. Derek had the camera ready to go but so caught up in the race he forgot to take some photos.
